What does freedom mean to you?
As my life goes through different season the word "freedom" has changed in meaning to me.
Freedom used to mean road trips, living free of responsibility, having the wind blow through my hair, being able to do what I wanted when I wanted.
I was living in a false sense of freedom.
Now, when I hear the word freedom is makes me cry. Freedom is realizing I can't do it on my own any more. It's realizing that I was so bound up in my "freedom" lifestyle that I was actually living a lie.
When I hear the word Freedom I hear the word Truth. I know it seems cliche, but when the Bible says in John 8 the Truth will set you free, it's not lying!!
When I hear freedom I hear transformation.
When I hear freedom I hear destiny.

2011 has already been a life changing year & we are only 6 days into it!! So this is what I have been doing.

God gave the 5 of my close friends a vision for speaking to women that have been churched their whole lives. So started Onand2.com. We want to speak the truth & break the chains that is suffocating the christian women of this world. Each of us blog everyday & I can't even tell you how excited about Oneand2 ministries. I put a link on the side so y'all can check it out whenever you want!!

The music albums I have bought in the past week.

Something really exciting is that I am apart of a church plant happening in Dallas! It's called Bethel Dallas & our senior pastor is Rice Broocks! I can't even tell y'all how exciting it is to be apart of what God is doing here in the DFW area. I love this church because they are extremely missions minded & that is where my heart is too. If you live in the Dallas Fort Worth you should come check us out. Go to Bethel Dallas and all the info will be right there.

The books I am reading! If you know anything about me, you know that I am not a big reader at all. But 2011 is going to be different! So I am reading two books that have already been completely transforming for me.

Also taking care of my silly puppies that I love, even though they are a mess, Moses & McQueen.

I love finding out about new magazines that have just surfaced! I found out about NEUE magazine through reading another magazine called RELEVANT. Neue is all about shaping the future of the church & also about leadership. I subscribed to both of the magazines for 2011 because I always want to know about culture & also deepen my relationship with God. I was completely beside myself to see that Neue had put John Mark McMillan on the front cover of one of their issues.
If you have a passion for worship music lead by the Holy Spirit then you need to read the article about him. McMillan is truly changing the way we worship.
So I am walking into 2011 ready to start digging deeper, embracing change, and being passionate.

It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth. Long lay the world in sin and error pining.Till He appeared and my soul felt its worth.

This book has become a HUGE part of my life! And the story is astounding. I also love that this book is super small, because it takes about 10minutes to read it. And in that 10 minutes, trust me, you really start to think about the butterfly effect you are making around you.
So now everywhere I go I notice butterflies everywhere.

More & more I am stepping into who I am supposed to be. I am beginning to step into what I am to look like to the outside world & with that come new beginnings. New starts! So because of this I decided to tweek my blog just a little bit. OKAY, a lot! What do you think??!! I love rustic & natural looks & this one I am going to stick with.
There will be a couple things that will change on here, but not too much! I also added a "What I Believe" in the about me section! I'm really excited that I finally added it.

Right now in my life I am surrounded by clothes laying everywhere in my room & my closet. Empty boxes piled up in my kitchen. New paint smell. Projects that I'm attempting to get done. But slowly my new house is coming together. I wanted to post pictures of the crazy mess but then, of course, I couldn't find my camera! I keep telling myself, it's a process, it's okay, you don't have to have it all together right now. So little by little, day by day, I'm getting things done.

One of my favorite things to do on my blog is share music with all of y'all. So I HAVE to tell y'all about Christ For The Nation's new live worship album, Responding. It is WRECKING my world & I only bought it yesterday! I have kept it on playing in my house now really loud for 24hours now & worship is filling my whole new house!

I hope y'all are doing wonderful & I'm now going to be posting on a regular basis, I'm getting in a routine.

I have been checked out.
My life is under construction.
So thus my blog is getting less attention then I would like. Bleh.
I also don't have internet in my new house yet & going to the coffee shop everyday is just a hassle.
So for now, til I once see you again (crossing my fingers that it will be in a couple of weeks) I am under construction.

Now after all my searching after all my questions I'm gonna call it home I got a brand new mindset I can finally see the sunset I'm gonna call it home

Dear Texas,
Thank you for being so spacious where I can breath in your fresh air. Thank you for your big blue sky. Thank you for being patient with me. I think you always knew I would fall in love with you some day.
For the first time in my life I finally know that I am home.

(Dolan Geiman is one of my favorite artists & I love that he has art about Texas. Someday when I'm wealthy, I will have many of his works all throughout my home.)

A moment, a love, a dream, a laugh, a kiss, a cry, our rights, our wrongs, a moment, a love, a dream, a laugh, a moment, a love, a dream, a laugh

I have to introduce y'all to someone that has stolen my heart!
This is my new little girl, McQueen!

And this is McQueen's story & how she came to be in my life.

My sister Shea had just got a 6 weeks old yellow lab, Moses, & noticed he probably needed a play mate. I said that I wasn't ready to get a dog & if I did then it would probably not be til Christmas time. And I would NEVER get a girl dog! To high maintenance i thought.

One night at work I received a text from my adoptive Mom, Robbie, saying that she had just found a puppy & her & Dad were bringing it home. She told me that they just happened to stop at a gas station to use the ATM when she saw a man standing on the sidewalk with a cute golden puppy. Mom walked up to him & said, "Oh that's such a cute puppy!" The man then told her that earlier in the day the puppy was with a homeless man & the homeless man had found her tied to a pole!! The man told the homeless man that he would take her & find a home for her. Well now the man was standing at the gas station with this little puppy not knowing what to do with her because he lived in an apartment & can't have a dog. He said he wasn't going to take her to the shelter because they would put her down in a month or so.
My Dad & Mom told the man that they had a girl that would love to take care of her & would love her & give her a good home. Dad took her & put her in the car & they brought her home.

That night I rushed home as soon as I got off work to meet my new little girl. The funny thing is the week before my sister & I were talking about me getting a dog & I told her that when I did get one I would name him McQueen, after Steve McQueen. I never thought I would be getting a little girl!! Obviously God put people at the right place at the right time.

She is wonderful & of course so funny. Except when she pees in the house! Trying to teach her that carpet is NOT grass. Her & Moses (Shea's lab puppy) love each other. They sleep in the same cage together & if he isn't in the room with her she goes a little crazy & wants to know where he is.

We think she is for sure a Golden Retriever with maybe a little lab mix because her hair is not like a retriever's. She's around 8 weeks old & her birthday is the day she came into my life October 18th, 2010.

So I'm sure you will be seeing a lot more of McQueen on here with future posts!

Beautiful people... forgive and forget. and eyes look like children, who haven't lost yet Entrust us the strength of their love disarms all the powers

Thrifting was successful yesterday & these are some of the treasures I found. One of my favorite things about buying items at thrift stores is that people are always shocked that I found something that good at that price!

I also found a great coffee shop in Denton. It's called Zera & is so peaceful & rustic when you walk in. As I was waiting to get my italian soad I was listening to the music they had playing & recognized the song. They were playing Jason Upton! Do you know a coffee shop that plays spirit filled worship music? Well now I do. I think I'm going to make it a point to go to Zera once a week & read. Just a little get away for me. I'll take photos next time I'm there so y'all can see how beautiful the place is.

Sounds of laughter shades of life are ringing through my open ears exciting & inviting me limitless undying love which shines around me

It's cold outside, well in the mornings & nights at least, & that means it's time to get out my...old man socks!!
They aren't really a pair of an old man's socks (cus that would be kinda gross), it's just what I like to call cozy winter socks. It's one of my favorite things about the cold weather rolling in. My very cute/ugly socks.
This year I plan on buying more & these are some of my favorites I have found online. I'm going thrifting this weekend so you can just guess what I'll be on the hunt for!

And when they dance and come together and start rising Just drink the water where you came from where you came from

BIG NEWS...Shea & I found a house!! We are finally getting to move into a house like we have been wanting to do for the past two years! We have been looking since July & it has been an interesting adventure house hunting. But we finally found one that fits us. We don't move in til the 29th so we have some time to pack up & get things ready.

Characteristics of my new house that I have come up with & things it reminds me of.
  • Petite
  • Rustic
  • Homey
  • Cottage
  • Vintage
  • Fixer-upper
  • My new project
  • Wide open spaces
  • Big trees
  • Peaceful
  • Quaint
So to say I'm busy is a little bit of an understatement, but I'm so extremely excited. Of course the only thing I can think about for the past couple of weeks now is decorating. I can't even count how many times I have been to Home Depot lately, I'm becoming a junkie. I go in there just so I can get inspiration. I look at lumber, door knockers, paint swatches, light fixtures, & the list goes on & on.

I will post photos when we move in of the whole big process, but for now, these are my favorite photos I have been daydreaming of & what my house will look like.
