I'm not calling you a liar, Just don't lie to me. And i love you so much, I'm gonna let you I'm not calling you a thief, Just don't, And i love you so

Can you have a certain type of style? If someone asked you what your style is, do you just say one word like, "Oh I'm classic." Or ethnic, casual, preppy etc.
I have been flip flopping on this a lot lately. I find myself opening my closet door & looking around like I have no creative juices in my body to dare put together an outfit for that day. I end up with a v neck shirt & my black yoga pants & off I go to work. Mind you I nanny & am with kids all day, so out style goes usually. These have been my thoughts lately...

"I am a 22 year old college mother."
"I need to make sure everything is covered because babies like to grab at me."
" Comfortable, but cute. Bleh, how to do that?!"
"I look like a MOM!!!"
"I don't want to be a mom yet!"

This whole chapter in my life has got me searching for the first time for easiest possible way for me to be stylish, comfortable, & still feel like I am in my 20's. Although I feel like I haven't figured any of it out because, as I'm writing this I am sitting on my bed in, yes, you guessed it. A shirt & my yoga pants that desperately need to be thrown in the wash.

The thing is I have been inspired by so much fashion lately & I just need to find away to work it out with my life filled with children. So as of lately I have been collecting photos of what I want this new chapter of my style to look like. I will figure this out very soon...I hope!

Oh one thing I have learned is put on lots of fun jewelry! All the time! Yes, even with my yoga pants. And this is my wisdom for the day.

I can't complain about it I gotta keep my balance & just keep dancin on it We gettin funky on the scene & you know about it

I can't remember the last time I did a Music Monday & I have been listening to some wonderful music lately. I just heard that one of my favorite bands Band Of Horses just released a new album Infinite Arms! I have only heard one song from the album & so far I liked what I heard. This is why Myspace is still pretty amazing. Yes, call me a nerd. I do indeed still have a Myspace. But don't judge, it's only because I can listen to music & hear new bands & artists.

Lately I have been seeing a lot about a girl named Janelle Monae. So, I decided to check out just what she was all about this past week. I really really enjoyed her music. I love her style too. She is extremely original & beautiful. Also, I wish I could get my hair to do what her hair does. I in fact attempted to do this style, but all the teasing & hairspray couldn't hold my hair up! So far Tightrope is my favorite song of hers & I think the dancing in the video is brilliant.

I hope to start posting regularly again this week. I found a 24 hour coffee shop in my town & I'm really excited about it! Let the blogging live on!

I don't give a damn I'm happy as a clam nobody knows me at all ah what can you do? there's nobody like you nobody knows me at all

I think the spring is officially back this time! Last week during spring break it was beautiful weather & perfect for the holiday. But last weekend all of a sudden it SNOWED! Yes, I repeat it snowed on the first day of spring! I will never ever doubt Texas weather & what it's capable of. I think the winter has officially gone away now (crossing fingers) & the warm weather is creeping in. Every time the season changes I think, Wow, I really love everything about this season. I just can't make up my mind which one I love more.

I have found so many inspirations for fashion for this spring/summer. I have yet to really buy anything, because Mr. Budget says I should probably pay my speeding ticket (I'm a little dangerous on the road sometimes) before I go buy any fruffles, linen, or lace. I was talking to my friend Marla & I told her I would like to start dressing more feminine. So most of the are dresses in pastels so I can get inspired!
There might be a lot of photos for this post to just to let y'all know, I have been storing photos up all winter. Enjoy loves!

Yesterday it rained in Tennessee I heard it also rained in Tallahassee but not a drop fell on little old me 'cause I was in shoo-shoo-shoo

There is something you might not know about me, I never wear high heels. When I say never, it's really never! I can look back & count the many times I have worn high heels on one hand. I like to stay as low to the ground as much as possible & keep my toesies comfy. That said, on Valentines day, Shea & I had been walking around Northpark mall for awhile. Shea was wearing her super cute, strappy, very very high heels, & I was in my trusty orange suede TOMS. I could tell Shea was kind of hurting after 4 hours in her shoes & we were about to head home. So me being the absolutely great little sister I am, told her we should switch shoes & I would wear her heels. She looked at me in disbelief & said, "Okay!"

Let me just tell you that I didn't realize how high those heels actually were. I had to walk around the mall for 15 minutes holding onto my sister's arm, because I just knew that I was going to fall & end up eating the floor. I kept repeating in my head, "Little steps, little steps, little steps." I was in pain by the time we finally got to the parking lot. It felt like hot needles were poking the balls of my feet! I said, "That's it, I can't, I can't do it! I'm not a woman that wears heels!" I ripped those shoes off my feet & walked barefoot outside! Freedom! When we finally returned home I looked down at my feet & realized that I not only had one, but two, water blisters starring back at me on my toes! Unbelievable. And it was only 15minutes! How will I ever become a lady if I can't wear high heels?

So I have decided that I am going to become a shoe person. I will start to buy more shoes from thrift & resale stores mostly & try to work my way up to being able to wear heels. I have never really been a shoe person. I have my favorite shoes in my very very small collection & I think it's time that I add to it a little more. However, if I just end up buying flats, I'm okay with that. So I have already begun my search for ideas of the types of shoes I want to very soon purchase in this new journey of mine.

I'll float above the ocean the sun above is burning my head I will grow wings & fly everywhere butter warm clouds are dripping into my mouth

5 things I'm loving right now

1. This cup that Shea got yesterday from Starbucks. On the back of the cup it tells all about the Starbuck's LOVE project. I thought it was pretty nifty & you can submit your own artwork on the site! White chocolate/raspberry mocha + fun creative love cup = pretty wonderful Valentines day.

2. I am determined to knit a hat with ears for myself! photo from here

3. Driving to Dallas to spend time with my brother Cale, sis-in-law Ky & baby niece Sophia. I love driving down Greenville avenue through all the houses & little shops.

4. Looking for "fruffle" dresses on Etsy. This on is from Econica

5. The Olympics are here! It doesn't matter how many Olympics I watch, I always get so pumped up. Shea & I pretty much don't change the channel or move from the tv til the whole thing is over. Speed skating is my favorite event to watch. And the theme music that comes on every time they come back from commercial gets me every time. The last couple of days have already been amazing so far! So this month, if I happen to stop posting as much, you will know why. I'm actually watching it as I post this.

Shut the door to the moon & let the birds gather play no more with the fool & let the souls wander & bleed from the soul

Sniffle, sniffle, sniffle... oh why so very cold! For some reason my nose only decides to run while I'm sitting in class. Yes, I'm the girl sitting beside you that has a bright red nose & tissues over flowing from her pockets. This is when the invention of a nose warmer would come into play. Also to add to the drip, drip, drip, of my nose, my face decided to reject any kind of makeup I attempted to put on this morning. So it was splotch, splotch, splotch on my face & my nose, very red. These photos from Toast, make me want to stay home & read the March issue of Real Simple. But I'm out the door to my 2nd job & then hop over to my 1st job. I hope you all are keeping warm!

Spent a week in a dusty library waiting for some words to jump at me we met by a trick of fate french navy, my sailor mate

I have set no goals for 2010. I think I'm over the making resolution at the beginning of the year. If you have made a resolution than that's wonderful! But so far nothing for me. I guess I have a resolution & it's to stop having such high expectations for things. I have yet to conclude if this is a good or bad resolution. So far it's working out pretty well.

A couple of months a go I found this amazing coat in a thrift store & I had to have it! So now you finally get to see it. I only wear it on special occasions because it is so amazing. It's also a little too big for me, but maybe I'll grow in to it. Okay that was a complete joke. Oh & these are my new lady shoes. I call them my lady shoes because I tend not to buy nice dress shoes. I like my Toms & my boots. But I decided to go out on a limb & by these lovely shoes & I really love them a lot. Maybe my next pair will be heels. Okay probably not.

At the beginning of every year I start going on a crazy hunt to listen to new music. It's a way for me to feel like I'm beginning something new. Spin magazine & Rolling Stone had really good issues of what has been the best music of '09 & what bands to look out for in '10. I have already begun the research of a lot of new artists & I'm really excited to start Music Mondays again!
