Now I hear there's a train It's coming on down the line It's yours if you hurry You've got still enough time & you don't need no ticket

If I was a cool kid...
I would jump on my longboard, surfboard, or in my kayak & take a ride. I think I have just might found my new adventure obsession!

Come drink this water Come drink this blood Come and drink this love that you could not afford

One Week
Three Kids
A lake & a family reunion.

I'm on a family vacation in Branson, Missouri right now, but not exactly my family. I'm babysitting three kids while I'm on family vacation with their whole family. So my week will consist of swimming, eating, boating, tubing, eating, trying to remember everyone's name & waking up very early. Oh yeah & eating.

It feels like summer now.

It's so available to you right now just taste and see, it's a new season (it's a new season)

I have been reminded many times over the past couple of weeks of how things in my life are changing. Somethings are going up & somethings are drifting away. Winter has gone & spring has sprung & we are all making the transition into the sunny days of summer. I have the tendencies to go back in the past & remember how good those days were & reminiscing about my life back then. I suppose it is what we do as humans. It's sometimes hard to look forward & see the uncertainty of our future. My best friend, Lexie, reminded me last night when we were talking, that this is a new season for me & I need to embrace every single part of it. Whatever is in my past should be left there! It is in the past & does not effect my present. Thank you Jesus for best friends that have wisdom & give it to you straight. These lyrics to New Season by Israel & Newbreed has been one of my favorite songs for the past couple of years & I always play it early in the mornings when I wake up or as I'm about to get into bed. It's a promise that has been given to me. That this is a new season & I am on a new adventure. Everyday I wake up & it's a new day.

"It's a new season, it's a new day. Fresh anointing is flowing my way. It's a season of power & prosperity. It's a new season coming to me."

Though it may sway like ocean's waves, Love comes to life in your embrace For you, I’d give my life away And as we are leaving the grips of this life

It has been raining here all weekend & with the rain, it has brought the cold with it. Cold! Why? This was not the plan. I went a couple of days ago to the lake & enjoyed the water & sunshine & it was wonderful. I was planning on doing that all weekend but Mr. Weather had another idea I suppose. I do adore the rain, but not when I'm expecting the sunshine.
Also for some reason, I am craving meat so badly these past couple of days. I guess I have deprived myself of it because cooking meat just makes me nervous. I can't stop thinking about eating sloppy joes. I'm a Texan (not to stereotype) but we love our bbq that's for sure. Just thought I would write about my cravings for a bit.
3 weeks left of this semester!!
So here is to the sun & summer, sitting in hammocks, picnics, going to the lake, big open fields, being with my best friends & warm summer nights (crossing my fingers.) Maybe if I think it, it will happen?

Come on, come out, the weather is warm Come on, come out, said come on, come on A spot in the shade where oranges fall The spot in the shade

So I planned on making today somewhat of a long epic post all about my life & me. But I'm having a pretty wonderful day & just feel like being outside. Also, I wanted to say, to all my readers how much I enjoy each of you! I hope all of your weekend is filled with being outside & enjoying the sunshine.

Oh I meant to tell y'all this, but I am very very proud to say my big sister, Shea, has a blog! Yes, I have converted her! It's amazing & she is a WAY better writer then I am. So please go check it out, it's quite lovely. Elisabeth's Pen.

Everything I have, everything I own All my mistakes man you already know I wanna be free, I wanna be free

One of my favorite things I used to do when I lived on campus is go take a blanket, sit by the pond & do my homework in the sunshine. Now that I live in an apartment it doesn't seem that I do this often any more. So now that another school year has started & when everything calms down I think I'll do this one day. And take my soccer ball with me for my "recreational pursuit."
I'm in a dancing mood tonight! Driving home from work, I rolled down my windows, blasted my favorite song from Akon cd, "Freedom" and just let my hair blow through the night wind. Man, there is no other feeling! Okay so I realize that these are pictures of the summer time (sorta) & most of you are transitioning into the summer as I am. I'm still in denial summer is gone so I will continue posting summer pictures to make me happy! Long Live Summer!

Sound of my heart's stopping A surprising stop It's been so long, been so long Time has a way of knowing what we have is strong Oh, it's been so long,

It's the middle of August & it finally feels like summer! Going to the lake, laying out, soaking up the sun, movies, snow cones! It's all apart of summer! I just wish I would have started doing all these things in May when summer began! One thing about Texas that I love is that although summer will be over very soon, it will still be hot all the way til October! So really we have a little less then 2 months for this summer weather to end. So I'm gonna continue wearing my tank tops & shorts & getting as much sun as possible. Tonight I rented the documentary Riding Giants. It's a movie I have been wanting to see for awhile & just always forgot about it. It was all about the history of surfing & where it is now. The footage of the waves was beautiful! The film had a lot of different guys from the 60's that basically are the father's of surfing. They had so many photos & footage from back then of the lifestyle they lived, just on the beach. It was really inspiring for me.
I have really gotten into the look of the 60's lately. I like how photographs looked, the way people dressed, and the cars & interior design. I'm not saying everything from the 60's, but a lot of things. My Mom was in her 20's around that time & I love to look at photographs of her then. It's like looking at myself back in time almost.
So all summer I have been on this surfing kick. I have never been so interested in this sport! I read a couple of my brother's surfing magazines when I was young & I would just gawk at the photos & thought they are fantastic. One of my favorite magazines now is Foam, that has so much about living on the coast lifestyle that really appeals to me. So since I live in Texas I was thinking, where could I go for a trip to learn to surf? The coast of course! So i researched it & I think my best bet would probably be Padre Island. I looked at a couple of other places that seemed like they had good waves, but then I would look up to see what the city was like & there would be NOTHING! out in the middle of nowhere! Which sometimes i'm okay with, but i rather have resources around me. So I have decided that after I graduate wither I stay in Texas & move to Padre Island, or I just move out of the country to Australia, New Zealand, or Tonga.
New movie that just came out Dear & Yonder check out the trailer.
I need the ocean!

Well I see skies of blue and I see clouds of white And the brightness of day I like the dark and I think to myself What a wonderful world

Tonight roaming around Barnes & Noble, I came upon this book Waves by Steve Hawk. The front of the book grabbed my attention immediately. Anything that has to do with the ocean, beach, or surfing I pick up. I flipped through each page wishing I could dive into to each photograph. The book was so beautifully done & it just makes you want to ride each wave & feel that water underneath you. Hopefully it will be sitting on my coffee table very soon.

Well, if love is all you had Well, then, Baby, that’s not bad And if love is all you got Then that’s a hell of a lot

These are items that i would really like to have right now, or for my fall wardrobe. A Fadora, a really loose hang off the shoulder cotton shirt. I want to start buying more scarves, i have actually a lot more now tht i think of it but it's a great accessory that pretty much goes with everything. Oh & the most imporatant a pair of small dainty turquoise earrings. I found this pair on etsy & i really love them. My best friend Lexie will be here on friday & im sooo excited! Gotta color the hair again before she gets here!

Do you ever think of me? Your heart is not able Let me show you how much I care I need those eyes to tide me over I’ll take your picture when I go

Funny how things can change. Something you thought would never happen again, you thought was all lost changes just from a word. I think I was more okay than I thought I was.
Shea & I were going to go to the lake again today, but when i opened my blinds this morning i saw it's overcast! The one day we want to go! Come on Texas sun, really!
We went out to this lovely little dock yesterday on a whim & it was both what we needed. I so want to get a little boat to take out there.
Today i'll stay inside & have some of coffee & let my creative juices flow.
Happy Monday Loves

It`s dusk as all the shadows fall The sun is laid to rest At night the city comes to life As the light dies in the west

I'm holding onto the summer as much as i can! It's drifting away so fast it seems. I'm determined to continue my summer spirit into fall. I have been putting surfing & traveling pictures all over my apartment, so when the fall comes i can stay in a summer mindset.
Oh also i colored my hair! When Dea was here we did it together & it was so much fun. I'm kinda a dark red head now, but will slowly become a honey golden blond. I'm ready for the change

You sit there in your heartache Waiting on some beautiful boy to To save you from your old ways You play forgiveness Watch it now Here he comes

My best friend Dea is coming to see me on Monday!! I'm so excited! I haven't seen her in over a month & i have missed her a lot. We are always going through the same thing even though we live in different states. Happy weekend for me!
I probably won't be blogging for a couple of days while Dea is here, so have a fantastically wonderful week! Go pick a flower & wear it in your hair!
I love the summer.

Will you tell me when the fighting’s over? Cos I can’t take I can’t take no more Will you tell me the day is done? Cos I can’t run I can’t run no more

I wish i lived by the water & i could have my own little dock, where every morning i would go out there with a cup of tea & my journal.
