1. My friend Ken surprised me & drove all the way from Ruston, LA just to be with me on my birthday. He also gave me a great tea kettle!
2. My family could have not blessed me any more with their presence on this day. They all drove to Denton, which is a 30minute drive to have birthday dinner with me.
3. When I opened up a card from my family (photo below) it read, "Happy Birthday Cali! We all chipped in to buy you a laptop. We all love you." This is when tears welled up in my eyes & I could not even say anything. I just looked around in disbelief. Of course my Mom caught this all on video (to my embarrassment.)
4. My family came back to my apartment where we all had the cake I had baked from scratch. They told me it was great! It didn't kill anyone, so this is a good sign I'm not such a bad cook.
I had a pretty wonderful birthday.
